We are excited to be hosting the half marathon trail run final portion of IronMan 2022 on our Kennebec River Rail Trail.
NOTE: The Augusta to Hallowell portion of the trail will be closed to everyone except IronMan participants and event volunteers and organizers on July 31, 2022.
The entire event features a 1.2-mile downriver swim in the Kennebec River, 56 miles of rolling hills on the bike and a 13.1-mile run along the canopy tree-lined Kennebec River Rail Trail.
The event begins with a 1.2 mile swim from Front Street, Augusta down river to Capitol Park. There the contestants begin the 56 mile loop bike ride that winds on hill roads between Augusta, Chelsea, Gardiner, Farmingdale, Hallowell and back to Augusta. And the race finishes with a 13.1 mile run with two laps along the Kennebec River Rail Trail between Augusta and Hallowell.
