Lesley Jones Retirement from the Friends Board
For many years (as many as anyone can remember!), Lesley Jones has been an integral part of the Friends of the Kennebec River Rail Trail. She served as Treasurer for the group for many years, ran the adopt-a-trail program, and brought her substantial experience to bear on countless maintenance and infrastructure issues. With her day job serving as Augusta’s Director of Public Works, she was also a critical link between the Trail community and the City of Augusta. Lesley will be retiring from the Board at the end of 2022, so friends and board members met recently for a thank-you celebration. A cake bearing the KRRT logo featured prominently in the festivities. Nobody there, including Lesley herself, could remember how many years she has been serving the trail…but no matter, we thank her so very much for each and every one of them!
